Navigating to Subscription Types
CONFIGURATION > BILLING APPLICATION > SUBSCRIPTIONS > SET UP TYPES
What are Subscription Types?
A Subscription Type defines the company's commercial policies which are applied on Subscriptions of the respective Type, such as what Services and Physical Goods can be added on each Subscription, which Billing Term Schemes will be made available for the Subscription and which Organisational Units will be able to create Subscriptions of that Type.
- Navigate to Subscription Types and explore existing entries via the Summary page.
- Click on the link (Name or Number) of the entry of your interest to enter the Data Entry page and see more detail.
- Use the Actions Menu to create a NEW Subscription Type, modify (EDIT) or DELETE an existing one.
- Use the BACK to return to the Summary page and CANCEL to revert any unwanted changes made to the Subscription Types.
- Click on the Audit Trail button to view a log of changes performed on the displayed Subscription Type.

Attributes
An * indicates a field is mandatory.

Main Information | |
Name* | The name of the Subscription Type. |
Description | The description of the Subscription Type. |
Alternative code* | The alternative code of the Subscription Type. Unless otherwise specified, the Alternative Codes for new entries default to the Name initials in capital letters. |
Allowed Attributes | |
Billing Term Schemes | |
Billing Term Schemes | The Billing Term Schemes that can be used by this specific Type of Subscription. If none is selected then, no Billing Term Schemes will be available for selection. |
Default | One of the Schemes must be set as Default and will be automatically selected as soon as the Subscription Type is selected. |
Services | |
Services | Defines the Subscription Services that can be added to Subscriptions of this specific Type. If none is selected then, no Service will be available for selection. Only Termed Services and Expenses can be added to the list. |
Mandatory | Available Subscription Services can be categorised as 'Mandatory'; otherwise, they are considered 'Optional'. The categorisation of 'Mandatory' and 'Optional' Services is used in various System functions for establishing conditions. For example, through the Billing Term Definition, different rules can be set for regretting Optional or Mandatory Services. |
Physical Goods | |
Physical Goods | Defines which Products or Product Types (Physical Goods) can be added to Subscriptions of this Type. If none is selected then no Physical Goods will be available for selection. |
Provisioning Distributors | |
Provisioning Distributors | Defines the Subscription Provisioning Distributors that can be used by Subscriptions of each Type, in order to associate provisioning Subscription Services with provisioning Subscription Installed Items. The selection is available to allow all configured Provisioning Distributors or specific ones. |
Allowed Organisational Units | |
Allowed Organisational Units | The Communities, Groups or Units the user should belong to in order to be allowed to create Subscriptions of the Type. |
Log Information | |
Log Details | The standard set of Log Details information available in all entities. |
