What are Contact Information Categories?

Contact Information Categories allow you to classify Contact Information into generic groups based on common attributes. Categories are configurable in the system.  There can be hundreds of Categories. Each Contact Information can be classified under only one Category.

  • Navigate to Contact Information Categories and explore existing records via the Summary page. Contact Information Categories follows a hierarchical structure, with 'parent' rows linked to multiple 'children' rows directly beneath them.
  • Click on the (Name) link of the record of your interest to open a modal window with the related details. Provide a name for the 'parent' to make that Category a 'child' or erase the parent name to make the Category a 'parent' itself.
  • Either SAVE the changes or cancel (X) and go back to the Summary page.
  • Create a new Category (ADD) or delete an existing one (REMOVE)
  • Use EXPAND ALL to view 'parent' and 'children' rows and COLLAPSE ALL to only view 'parent' rows.

Check the Validations & Restrictions Table below for a list of available Actions when working with Contact Information Categories, including each Action's related validations and restrictions.  View the Attributes Table for a comprehensive description of the Contact Information Categories' fields.
