When to use Remove Services - Regret

Regret Service is used to remove a Termed Service, which was added, within a 'business defined' number of days, and which the subscriber no longer wants. Whether the regretting of already activated Subscription Services is allowed, and the way in which they are handled is up to the organisation offering the Services, subject to its business rules. The Regret Service Action can also be used to regret a Service swap. i.e., the Regret Service Action can be used if a subscriber recently changed their Service from P1 to P2 and would like to return to P1.

By default, the System allows the regretting of a Service whether it is active or not. The rule governing whether and when a Regret Service Action may be used can be configured.

The Regret Service Action is a child of the Regret Subscription Action. The difference between the two Actions is that while Regret Subscription is automatically applied to ALL Subscription Services, Regret Service provides the option to apply the regret to specific Subscription Services.

Differentiation on the rules can be enforced on the following three occasions via Billing Term Definition:

  • Mandatory Services Regret (on Regret Service Action)
  • Optional Services Regret (on Regret Service Action)
  • Subscription Regret (on Regret Subscription Action)

View the Information Table below for information related to the Scheduling, Preview Rating and Classification of the Subscription Action.  Check the Validations & Restrictions Table for a list of available Actions, including each Action's related validations, restrictions and a description of its system process.

View 'Using Subscription Action Modal' available in Managing Subscriptions for more information on executing the Action.

The Action can be applied to ALL or to a selection of Subscription Services.
