Subscriptions - Configuration Requirements

Learn to set up Subscriptions related business processes and rules.

Mandatory Configuration

The following modules must be configured in order to use Subscriptions:

  • Must be configured accordingly in order to be able to start using the Subscriptions module (Configuration Type = Mandatory) 
    OR 
  • May be configured to use the Subscriptions module at its full capacity (Configuration Type = Optional)

Billing Term Schemes

Billing Term Schemes are required in order to be able to create a new Subscription.

Billing Term Schemes are used to control the creation or modification of Billing Terms by providing the available options for each input field and by setting default values.  They control Billing Engine processes by providing the rules and policies that should be applied during Billing Runs.

Billing Term Definition Rules include validations and restrictions that will be used across Billing Terms, regardless of their Scheme.

Normal Billing Run DefinitionNormal Billing Run Definitions are business rules which are used to control the behaviour of Normal Billing Runs throughout their Life Cycle.Mandatory (For Billing Normal Subscriptions)
Prepaid Billing Run DefinitionPrepaid Billing Run Definitions are business rules which are used to control the behaviour of Prepaid Billing Runs throughout their Life Cycle.Mandatory (For Billing Prepaid Subscriptions)
Inventory Definitions

Configure Inventory Management Definitions to define the Warehouses that Installed Items will be taken from or returned to.

Product TypesConfigure the Product Types (Service and Physical Good Types) that will be used to create Products to add on Subscriptions.
Product Types and Products must subsequently be added to Subscription Types and Billing Term Schemes, as Allowed Attributes.

Provisioning ModuleConfigure one of the Provisioning modules required to handle the signals to be sent to the Subscriber's device when activating or deactivating Subscription ServicesMandatory (For Pay TV customers)


Optional Configuration

The following entities are available and can be configured under Subscriptions.  A working CRM.COM model can exist without them being configured.
