What does this section cover?

In order to create a new Subscription you must use action Become Subscriber. This manual can be used in order to find out the information that is displayed in the Subscription page and how you can find required information

Explaining Subscriptions  Fields

Name

Description

Contact InformationThe subscriber's Contact Information
Accounts ReceivableThe account information of the account that will be charged during billing
Billing AddressesThe address set as the Billing Address on the selected Accounts Receivable
Subscription AddressesAlso referred to as the Subscription Location.The subscription location denotes the subscriber’s physical address at which the installed items exist and the subscribed services are received. The Subscription location is related to one of the existing subscriber’s (accounts receivable owner) contact addresses. 
Subscription Terms

The terms that are applied on the subscription which includes the following:

  • Subscription Type: The type of the subscription which dictates the allowed services
  • /wiki/spaces/CRMR4MANUALS/pages/222367: The Scheme that will denote the business/billing rules the subscription abides to
  • Price Plan: The Price Plan by which the subscription will be billed from
  • Billing Frequency: The frequency by which the subscription will be billed
  • Binding Period
    • Binding Start Date: The date the binding period begun
    • Binding End Date: The date the binding period ends
  • Effective Date: The Date the subscription was initially set from Draft to Effective
  • Agreement date : Date the contract was signed
  • Life Cycle State:The state of the subscription that determines if the subscription services should be charged or not. This information is dynamically calculated based on the information which is listed in the subscription life cycle state history.
  • Allowed Cycle Day: Used to specify up to which day of the month a subscription should be billed. Billing cycle day is set automatically, based on the billing term scheme configuration, if the billing method is Period Billing. If the billing method is Anniversary then the billing cycle day is set manually based on the agreement that was made with the subscriber.
  • Concurrent Usage:Concurrent usage based pricing is used to apply price plan rates based on the number of concurrent usage of the services or the installed items that will be billed, and a rate percentage which is agreed between the customer and the company providing those services. Concurrent usage based pricing consist of the following:
    • Concurrent Usage: Defines the concurrent usage of services which will be billed based on the specified billing terms
    • Rate Percentage: Defines the rate percentage that should be applied on all services which will be billed based on the specified billing terms
      • The final rate is calculated based on the following formula: Price Plan Rate * Number of concurrent Usage * Rate percentage amount / 100
        Concurrent usage based pricing can be used only if it is supported by the related billing term scheme. In that case, both attributes are mandatory.
Subscription Services

The services provided to the subscriber which can optionally be distributed to one or more provisioning distributors.

Only termed, usage and expense services are allowed to be added as subscription services

Components

 

If the service is a product bundle then the components show the services included in the bundle
First Activated On

The date that the service was first changed from draft to effective - (Dynamically Calculated)

As of CRM.COM R9.0.0 and onwards this date will be saved.
 

Rating State

It defines if the subscription service was processed by the rating engine or not. The available rating states are the following:

  • PENDING: The subscription service was not rated yet or future ratings are still pending (i.e. the subscription service is still billable)
  • COMPLETED: The subscription service was fully rated and in not billable or creditable anymore (i.e. it was regretted, swapped, removed or cancelled)
Rated Up ToThe date up to which the subscription has already been billed
Life Cycle StateThe state of the subscription service during the specific period of time

A link that provides information related to the service

Started OnThe date that the period started
Ended On The date that the period ended
Billing Directive

Determines how each period should be processed by the billing engine. The supported billing directives are the following:

  • To be billed: The period should be considered by the billing engine in order to be billed
  • To be credited: The period should be considered by the billing engine in order to be credited
  • Not to be billed: The period should never be considered by the billing engine, therefore should never be rated or billed
Billing Effective DateDetermines when the period should be considered by the billing engine
Billable Period Start DateDetermines the start date of the billable period of each subscription service (it answers to the question “from which date should I start billing this service).
Started by Subscription action The subscription action that started the period
Ended By Subscription actionThe subscription action that ended the period. This is mandatory if the period is already closed
Subscription Installed Items

The installed items provided to the the subscriber which can optionally be distributed to one or more provisioning distributors

Name

Description

Physical GoodThe Physical Good product
Serial NumberThe serial number used to identify the Installed Item.
Note that the Alternative code and not the Serial number is used to be sent to Provisioning Providers 

Ownership Status

It defines if the installed item is owned by the company or the customer, based on the business transactions that were applied on the installed item. This Information is calculated dynamically. The supported values are the following:

  • Sold to Customer: The Installed Item was sold to the customer and is owned by the customer
  • Rented to Customer: The Installed Item was rented to the customer and is owned by the company

Components

If the installed item is a bundle then the components will show the traceable and non traceable physical goods included in the product

DistributorsThe distributors the installed item is available from.
The installed item can be distributed to multiple distributors form different providers. 
CommunicationsDisplays any Communication which have the Subscription in the Referring To Entities
Log Information
  • Log Details: Standard Log Details
  • Owned By Group: The Group that is owning the subscription
  • Privacy Level: The privacy level of the subscription
  • Shared Notes: Additional notes for the subscription

 

Checking out Subscription History

Subscription History provides all the information related to the specific subscription since the day of its creation divided in semantic sections for ease of finding the information of your interest.

To view History:

  1. Go to Subscriptions Data Entry page 
  2. Click on View History button, available under Subscription Actions.

Provides an overview of the subscription including changes on the subscription executed via Subscription Related Actions

Provides a list of the subscription's billing terms

Ad-hoc Discounts

Provides a list of any ad-hoc discounts that have been applied on the specific subscription

Buy In Advance Requests

Provides a list of any Buy In Advance Requests that have been applied on the subscription

Grace periods

Provides a list of any grace periods that have been applied on the specific subscription

Resting Periods

Provides a list of any resting periods that have been applied on the specific subscription Life Cycle State History

Services History

Provides an overview related to services of the subscription from its creation date to current date.
SERVICES HISTORY 

Existing

Provides a list of the services added and currently available on the subscription. Same information as the one described in the Subscription Services table above is available

Removed

Provides a list of the services that have been removed from the subscription along with the date that the service has been removed.

Swapped

Provides a list of the services that have been swapped from the subscription along with the date that the service has been swapped and the service used to replace it.

To Be Added

Provides a list of services that are scheduled to be added on the subscription and the scheduled date

To be Removed

Provides a list of services that are scheduled to be removed from the subscription and the scheduled date

To be Swapped

Provides a list of services that are scheduled to be swapped from the subscription along the service to be replaced by and the scheduled date

Usage

Provides a list of the Usage services added on the subscription via Add Service Usage

Expenses

Provides a list of the Expenses added on the subscription along with information on billing and cancellation

Installed Item History

Provides an overview, related to installed items of the subscription from its creation date to current date.
INSTALLED ITEMS HISTORY 

Existing

Provides a list of the installed items added and currently available on the subscription. Same information as the one described in the Subscription Installed Items table above is available

Removed

Provides a list of the installed items that have been removed from the subscription along with the date that the installed item has been removed. (Also includes swapped installed items)

Swapped

Provides a list of the installed items that have been swapped from the subscription along with the date that the installed item has been swapped and the installed items used to replace it.

Provisioning Distribution History

Provides an overview related to provisioning distributions of the subscription from its creation date to current date. It provides a clear picture from which distributors a service or an installed item is provisioned from. 

PROVISIONING DISTRIBUTION HISTORY

Use the Service Authorisation Field to determine whether the service is also active in the Provider

Use the Installed Item Initialisation Field to determine whether the installed item has been registered to the Provider 

Existing Service Distribution

Provides a list of the service distributions currently active on the subscription. Provides information related to the Provider the date that the distribution was created and whether it is authorised.

Removed Service Distribution

Provides a list of the service distributions that have been removed from the subscription. Provides information related to the Provider the date that the distribution was removed and whether authorisation has already been cancelled.

Existing Installed Item Distribution

Provides a list of the Installed Item distributions currently active on the subscription. Provides information related to the Provider the date that the distribution was created and whether it has been initialised on the Provider Side.

Removed Installed Item Distribution

Provides a list of the  Installed Item distributions that have been removed from the subscription. Provides information related to the Provider the date that the distribution was removed and whether initialisation has already been cancelled.

Subscription Actions History

Subscription Actions are used to manage Subscriptions throughout its life cycle state. The information available in this section provides a complete picture of what has been done on the subscription any actions planned for the future or any actions that have been cancelled.

Through this section you also have the option to Amend or Cancel scheduled Actions. For more information on managing scheduled actions go to Scheduling Subscription Actions
SUBSCRIPTION ACTIONS 

Scheduled

Provides a list of Scheduled Actions, including information on the date and the user that scheduled it as well as option to view the action in more detail, cancel it or amend it.

Executed

Provides a list of Executed Actions, including information on the date and the user that executed the action, as well as the option to view the action in more detail

Cancelled

Provides a list of Scheduled Actions that have been cancelled, including information on the date and the user that cancelled the action, as well as the option to view the action in more detail
