When to use Short Term Subscription Deactivation

Subscriptions and their Services which are in an 'Effective' State can be deactivated for a short period. Subscriptions in Short Term Deactivation can be reactivated either automatically when the Short Term Deactivation end date is reached, or through the Subscription Action End Short Term Subscription Deactivation

The Batch Process Using Take Subscriptions out of Resting Run Definitions can be used to deactivate any Subscriptions that no longer meet the activation criteria and therefore should not return to being 'Active' once out of Short Term Deactivation.

View the Information Table below for information related to the Scheduling, Preview Rating and Classification of the Subscription Action. Check the Validations & Restrictions Table for a list of available Actions, including each Action's related validations, restrictions and a description of its system process.
View 'Using Subscription Action Modal' available in Managing Subscriptions for more information on executing the Action.

The Action requires one of the following two values to be defined which will indicate the end of the Short Term Not Effective period:

  1. ON A SPECIFIC DATE: If selected, a date field appears for specifying the date and time using the appropriate links. The date must be greater than the current date.
  2. AFTER A SPECIFIC NUMBER OF DAYS: If selected, a number field appears in order to specify the number of days. The value must be an integer greater than 0.
