Insights

CRM.COM Insights provide an in-depth analysis and understanding of various events performed within a business ecosystem. Insight analytics are generated immediately, in real-time, and are based on up-to-date information.

Editing Insights

Navigate to Analytics > Insights using the menu on the left-hand-side of the screen.

The summary screen displays a list of existing Insights, to view/edit an Insight click on the options button > Edit.

Creating Insights

From the Insights summary screen select the Create Insight button on the upper-right part of the screen to create a new Insight.

Events

The first major component of an Insight is the Event, i.e. the CRM.COM Event that you want to analyse the information and behaviour of. Each Insight can be performed for a single Event type.

Events
  • Start by selecting an Event

  • Select how this event's information will be measured:

    • Frequency - The Insight is based on the number of times the event was performed

    • Total - Total amount of the selected event

    • Criterion - Optionally set-up additional generic criteria to narrow down the results

Filters

Use Filters to filter the results even further based on specific attributes, thus performing a targeted Insight on the Event’s behaviour. You can set up filtering based on information related to Contacts and/or information that is related to the Event itself.

Breakdowns

Use Breakdowns to group the Insight results. Again you can group the information based on Contacts and/or Event information.

Insight Results

Once you have set-up your Insight parameters, the results are readily available for you to analyse. By default, results are initially displayed in Bar chart format and for the current day (today). Switch between weekly or monthly results, or even set up you own custom date range and the Insight results will be immediately refreshed. Switch between other visual formats such as Table, List, Stacked Bar or Pie using the drop-down menu on the right.

Up to 10 records are displayed in Insight Charts, ordered by the event’s Frequency/Total. The rest of the records are grouped together in an 11th option called “Other”. Use Insights Exports to export all of the event’s information.

Exporting Insights

Easily export an Insight’s results in .csv format. Select one of the two available export formats and you will soon receive an email with the exported file’s download link.

The exported file’s content is determined by several factors:

  • The Event’s information - Each export has a predefined set of information and this cannot be configured

  • Whether there are breakdown fields or not - When using breakdowns, the exported file will additionally include some information on the entity used to group the events together

  • The exported file’s selected format

You can export the results in two different formats:

  • Export UGD - Export the Underlying Granular Data that was used to generate the Insight, i.e. same basic information of the actual events based on which the Insight was created

If Breakdowns are set up, then an Event might appear more than once in the exported file, once for each breakdown field. For example:

- Breakdown has been set up for orders based on products sold

- If an Order includes 2 different products, then the order is included twice in UGD export, once for each product

Additionally, when using Breakdowns, the export file will include additional data referring to the breakdown entity. Using the same example above, the exported file will additionally include (apart from the ordered product as such), the ordered product’s quantity and cost.

  • Export Insight Results - Export the Insight results in tabular format. In other words, the exported file will include the same set of information as the one displayed for the Insight chart, with no reference to the UGD.

SMTP integration is required to email insights to recipients, however, if the Business SMTP integration is not configured, then Service Owner integration is used.
