What is Wallet Transaction Allotment?

Transaction Allotment refers to the fund allocation from a wallet transaction to specific products. When defined on a Credit wallet transaction then it denotes the product which the money from the credit transaction should be allocated for. When defined on a Debit wallet transaction, it denotes the product which the money from the debit transaction was allocated to.

Transaction allotment can either be done manually or automatically by the system. Read on to find out in which instances allotment will be executed automatically.

How does Automatic Wallet Transaction Allotment work?

The system will automatically set the wallet transaction allotments in the following cases:

  • When a voucher which can be consumed only by specific products is used:
    • If the voucher payment is created
      and
    • the option "On Payment Posting" for Crediting, is selected in the wallet definitions

then a wallet credit transaction will be created for the amount that is specified on the voucher and a wallet transaction allotment for each product specified in the voucher's product will be added.

  • When prepaid billing run is performed and wallet amount is consumed by specific products:
    • If the option "During Prepaid Billing Run" for Debiting is selected in wallet definitions
      and
    • a product is consuming a specific wallet amount  through the prepaid billing run,
      and
    • wallet allotments exists for that product,

then a debit wallet transaction will be created for the amount that has been consumed and a wallet allotment for that product and the amount that the product is consuming will be added on the wallet transaction. The allotment amount that will be debited, cannot be greater than the available amount for that product.

  • When a wallet transaction that already includes allotments is voided:
    • If a wallet transaction that already includes allotment is voided,
then the void wallet transaction will also include the same allotments

  • When the whole wallet balance (greater than zero) is reimbursed automatically:
    • If the whole wallet balance is reimbursed automatically,
then the reimburse wallet transaction will also include allotments for each product having an available consumption amount.
