What is Wallet Consumption?

Wallets have funds that can be used for paying off services used in Prepaid Subscriptions. Using the products on a subscription and the price of the product as defined in the related /wiki/spaces/V4Manual/pages/9833458, CRM.COM provides a brief estimation on the remaining amount of time left till the amount left in the wallet will be completely consumed.
In addition a more elaborate calculation is done on the product level, providing the remaining amount that can be used for specific products. The values are being calculated by the Prepaid Billing Run carried out for Prepaid Subscriptions.

Read on to find out the exact information provided.

Consumption Estimation on Wallet Level

The values related to the consumption are only applicable on effective Wallets. On the Wallet Level the following values are provided:

  • Estimated Consumption Days:The number of days left until the whole wallet amount will be consumed
  • Estimated Consumption Date: An estimation of the date on which the whole wallet amount will be consumed
  • Estimated Consumption As of Date: The latest date that the estimation was performed (which is equal to the date that the last Billing Run for Prepaid was executed)

Consumption Estimation on Product Level

This process is performed during the prepaid billing run execution, and is applicable only on effective wallets. The following values are calculated and are available to you via the Wallets page

  • Estimated Consumption Days:  An estimation on the number of days left until the whole wallet amount allotted for the specified product will be consumed
  • Estimated Consumption Date: An estimation of the date on which the whole wallet amount allotted for the specified product will be consumed
  • Estimated Consumption As of Date: The latest date that the estimation was performed

Processing

The process for calculating the remaining consumption period both per subscription and per product its automatically executed at the end of the Prepaid Billing Run execution.

  • Once BR (Billing Run) is executed the remaining amount on the Wallet and the remaining product allotted amount is calculated.
  • The cost of the product is then calculated per day using the price provided on the respective Price Plan
    • If more than one products exist then the sum of all the products will be calculated
    • i.e.
      • Product Allotted = Cost per Product per day
      • Wallet = Sum of (Cost per Product per day)
  • Remaining consumption days (Wallet) = Remaining Balance / Sum of (Cost per Product per Day)
  • Remaining consumption days (Product) = Remaining Allotted Amount / Cost per Product per Day

Consumption Amount Calculation for long periods

  • If the remaining consumption amount covers more than the next 6 months then the estimation may not be as precise.
  • If the remaining consumption amount covers more than the next 3 years then the estimation will not be able to retrieve any results.

Calculation of Daily Rate of Products

  •  If the UOT of a product in the /wiki/spaces/V4Manual/pages/9833424 is not set to Daily , then according for which month the calculation is made, the daily rate will vary. See the example below.
