When to use Remove Services - Regret

Regret Service is used to be used when a service has been added and after some time the customer decides that he/she does not want to have the specific service. Depending on your company's business rules is up to you to decide whether you will allow the regretting of subscription services once they are activated and how they should be handled.The specific action may remove a Termed Service, which was added, within a 'business defined' number of days, and which the subscriber no longer wants. Whether the regretting of already activated Subscription Services is allowed, and the way in which they are handled is up to the organisation offering the Services, subject to its business rules. The Regret Service Action can also be used to regret a service swap that has been executed in the system, iService swap. i.e. if , the Regret Service Action can be used if a subscriber has recently changed his service their Service from P1 to P2 and he would like to return to P1 then the Regret Service action may be used.

By default the system will allow , the System allows the regretting of the service whether the service a Service whether it is active or not. You can configure rules that will control when and if regret service action The rule governing whether and when a Regret Service Action may be used . Differentiation can be configured.

The Regret Service Action is a child of the Regret Subscription Action. The difference between the two Actions is that while Regret Subscription is automatically applied to ALL Subscription Services, Regret Service provides the option to apply the regret to specific Subscription Services.

Regret Service is a child of Regret Subscription action. The difference between the 2 actions is that the Regret Subscription action will be automatically imposed to all the subscription's services, while Regret Service provides you with the option to apply the regret only to specific subscription services

  • Action Type: Select action type from the drop down if you have configured custom actions in the system, using the specific behaviour code

    Action Type and Sub Action type are visible only if applicable

    Once the action is submitted the following changes will be carried out by the system:

  • Specified subscription services are removed
  • The distribution of the specified subscription services and their related provisioning distributors is removed
  • Provisioning distributors if there are no other subscription services or installed items distributed on them are removed
  • Specified subscription services life cycle state is set to Regretted
  • Subscription life cycle state is set to No Effective if no other services exists

    • Regret period rules are not violated
    • 'Active' Accounts Receivable.
    • Active Subscription Definition Rules are observed.
      • General and Distributor specific Subscription Service restrictions and dependencies are observed.
      • General and Distributor specific Installed Item restrictions and dependencies are observed.
    • 'Active' Billing Term Definition Rules are observed.
      • Regret Period Rules are observed.
    • The Action is available only if the Subscription Service is in one of the following Life Cycle States:
      • Effective
      • Not Effective
      • In resting
      • Short Term Effective

    Executing Remove Services - Regret

  • Navigate to BILLING APPLICATION > BILLING > SUBSCRIPTIONS > MANAGE SUBSCRIPTIONS
  • Search for the Subscription you are looking for, using the criteria section
  • Click on the Subscription number to go to the Data Entry page of the subscription
  • On the left hand side of the screen you can see the ACTION PANEL
  • Click on Subscription Service Related Actions
  • Find the action you would like to execute and click on the link to open the action details in a modal window

    1. All Services: Will automatically check all the services and add them under Subscription Services to be Removed
    2. Specific services: Check the services you would like to Stop.

    • If the Subscription Services to be regretted were added by the swap

    • The previous subscription service is restored using the attributes that the service had before the swap.

  • Billable period start date and billing effective date are updated based on billing term scheme
