What are Subscription Types?

A Subscription Type defines the company's commercial policies which are applied on subscriptions of that type, such as what services and what physical products can be added on each subscription type, which Billing Term Schemes will be made available for each subscription type and which Organisational units will have access to any subscriptions of the specific subscription types.

Multiple subscription types can be used for various purposes, such as:

  • Control access rights - by using Allowed Organisational Units.
For example, within a country you may have shops in 6 different cities, and you wouldn't like the subscriptions that are created for subscribers of City A to be accessible to users that are working for any of the other cities.
  • Multiple Contracts with different Services Offerings - by using allowed services, physical goods, distributors.
For example, you might want to offer 2 different types of contracts to your subscribers to choose from. One contract where only specific channels will be available and will be provided for a certain purpose and another one where all of the channels will be made available. Create a Subscription for Sports Bars where the only available channels to be added will be Sports channels and the subscriber will be allowed to have up to 10 cards for each subscription. Create another Subscription Type, Normal, where subscribers will have to choose from a pool of channels but will not be allowed to have more than one card per subscription.
