What does this section cover?

What are UDR Types?

Usage Detail Record Types are used to classify and group UDRs based on their business meaning. Usage Detail Record Types are configurable and optional, as they do not determine any specific business behavior within the system.

  • Multiple UDR types can exists in the system, but each one should have a unique name and alternative code

  • UDR types cannot be deleted if they are already used by UDRs which are posted, have billing directive to be billed or to be credited and are not still rated
  • Deleted UDR types are still visible on UDRs which were created using those UDR types.

Restrictions: Defines restrictions which are applied on UDRs of this type
Mandatory Information

Defines the information that should be mandatory (in addition to the already mandatory information) for UDRs of this type. One check box for each field is available. The following fields can be set as mandatory:

  • From Date
  • To Date
  • Source System
  • Device
  • Usage Method
  • Source ID
  • Source Category
  • Destination ID
  • Destination Category
Formatting

Defines formatting restrictions that are applicable on UDRs of this type. The following formatting restrictions can be applied:

  • Source ID Formatting
    • Type: Alphanumeric or Numeric
    • Number of characters
  • Destination ID Formatting
    • Type: Alphanumeric or Numeric
    • Number of characters
Allowed Attributes: Defines the various attributes that can be used by UDRs of this type
Allowed Source Systems

Defines the UDR source systems which are allowed to be used in UDRs of this type. At least one record should exist if the source system is set as mandatory through the restrictions section.

Allowed Usage Methods

Defines the UDR usage methods which are allowed to be used in UDRs of this type. At least one record should exist if the usage method is set as mandatory through the restrictions section.

Allowed Devices

Defines the UDR devices which are allowed to be used in UDRs of this type. At least one record should exist if the device is set as mandatory through the restrictions section.

Allowed Source Categories

Defines the UDR source categories which are allowed to be used in UDRs of this type. At least one record should exist if the source category is set as mandatory through the restrictions section.

Allowed Destination Categories

Defines the UDR destination categories which are allowed to be used in UDRs of this type. At least one record should exist if the destination category is set as mandatory through the restrictions section.

Allowed Organisational Units

The organisational units that can use the specific UDR type

Defining your own UDR Types tailored to your company's needs

  1. Navigate to CONFIGURATION > BILLING APPLICATION > BILLING > SET UP UDR TYPES 
  2. Either search for an existing one or from the Top Menu click on NEW 
  3. MAIN INFORMATION

    1.  Provide the required information

      1. Name
      2. Alternative Code
      3. Description

  4. RESTRICTIONS

    1. Provide the required information:
      1. Mandatory Information: Define the information that should be mandatory (in addition to the already mandatory information) for UDRs of this type.
      2. Formatting: Define formatting restrictions that are applicable on UDRs of this type.

  5. ALLOWED ATTRIBUTES

    1. ALLOWED SOURCE SYSTEMS

      1. Click on ADD and select the allowed source systems using the Search Modal

      1. Click on ADD and select the allowed usage methods using the Search Modal

    3. ALLOWED DEVICES

      1. Click on ADD and select the allowed devices using the Search Modal

    4. ALLOWED SOURCE CATEGORIES

      1. Click on ADD and select the allowed devices using the Tree Modal

  6. From the Actions Menu click on SAVE
  7. LOG INFORMATION

    Log information section keeps all the logging information related to the specific record

    • Basic set of information available in all entities
      • Created By User: The user that created the entity
      • Created By Unit: The unit of the user that created the entity
      • Updated By User: The user that last updated the entity
      • Updated by Unit: The unit of the user that last updated the entity
      • Date Created: The date the account was entity
      • Date Updated: The date the account was last entity

Deleting UDR Types

  1. Search for the entity that you would like to delete
    Visit  Using Summary Pages   to find out how you can search using CRM.COM Summary Screens
  2. Click on the link of the record you would like to delete, to be transferred to the Data Entry page
  3. From the actions menu click on "DELETE"
     The entity will be deleted given that the validations are satisfied
