When to use Terminate Subscription

Terminate Subscription can either be used in order to cancel or regret a subscription and all of its services that are not already regretted or cancelled. This manual provides information about Cancelling a Subscription.
Cancel Subscription action is used when a subscriber wishes to cancel their subscription.
Visit to 'Cancel' (the subject of this manual) or 'Regret' a Subscription and its services. The Cancel Subscription Action is used to cancel a subscriber's Subscription.

Terminate Subscription
  • The subscription should be Subscription is owned by an active accounts receivable
  • The subscription should have an effective billing term instance
  • The rules defined in the active billing term definitions are not violated'Active' Accounts Receivable.
  • 'Active' Billing Term Definition Rules are observed.
    • Cancellation outside binding or during binding rules Rules are not violatedobserved.
  • The action 'Action' is available only if the subscription has Subscription is in one of the following Life Cycle States:
    • Draft
    • Effective
    • Not Effective
    • In Resting

 

 

  • If the Subscription has any Actions scheduled actions, scheduled for after the cancellation , then they are deleted.

 

Executing Terminate Subscription

  • Navigate to BILLING APPLICATION > BILLING > SUBSCRIPTIONS > MANAGE SUBSCRIPTIONS
  • Search for the Subscription you are looking for, using the criteria section
  • Click on the Subscription number to go to the Data Entry page of the subscription
  • On the left hand side of the screen you can see the ACTION PANEL
  • Click on Subscription Related Actions to expand 
  • Find the action you would like to execute and click on the link to open the action details in a modal window

  • If required check the following sections for information 
    1. EXISTING SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES

      1.  Provides an overview of the existing subscription services 

    2. EXISTING SUBSCRIPTION INSTALLED ITEMS

      1. Provides an overview of the existing subscription installed items

    3. UNSETTLED BILLS

      1. Provides an overview of any Bills related to the subscription and have not yet been settled
  • SUBSCRIPTION ACTION DETAILS

  • Classifications: Select CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION Classification,
    This is the business classification code for actions that for the same behavior code have multiple business classification

  • Action Type: Select action type from the drop down if you have configured custom actions in the system, using the specific behaviour code
  • Sub Action Type: Select action type from the drop down if you have configured custom actions in the system, using the specific business classification code
    Classification, Action Type and Sub Action type are visible only if applicable
  • Performed By User : Search and add the user that logs the action 
    If you leave empty then the Logged in user will be set
  • Performed Date: Click on the calendar icon and select date and time

  • SCHEDULING INFORMATION

    Include PageScheduling Subscription action - GlobalScheduling Subscription action - Global
  • Click on "SUBMIT"
    Action will be validated as provided in the section below and submitted if validations are passed

    Once the action is submitted the following changes will be carried out by the system:

  • Remove the specified subscription services
  • Remove the distribution of the specified subscription services and their related provisioning distributors
  • Remove provisioning distributors if there are no other subscription services or installed items distributed on them
  • The subscription services which are not cancelled or regretted are set to state Cancelled

  • The subscription life cycle state is set to Cancelled

  • Billable period start date and billing effective date based on billing term scheme

  • Binding end and allowed cancel date extension based on billing term scheme
    • The Subscription Services are removed.
    • The distribution of the Subscription Services and their related Provisioning Distributors are removed.
    • Provisioning Distributors are removed if there are no other Subscription Services or Installed Items distributed on them

    • The Subscription Life Cycle State is set to 'Cancelled'.

    • Cancellation penalties are applied as specified on the

    active billing term definitions
    • 'Active' Billing Term Definitions.

    • Any Actions scheduled
    actions, scheduled for
    • after the
    cancellation
    • Cancellation are deleted.
