In this guide, we will take you through the required steps to configure the app and its features in CRM.COM back-end, review and publish it to app stores.

By the end of this guide, you’ll have a clear understanding on:

  • How to set up the Contact app in the back-end

  • How to set up and utilise CRM.COM’s features into your app

  • How to request CRM.COM team to publish you app

  • Review your app before publishing it

Let’s Get Started

Step 1 - Set up the Contact app in CRM.COM

Set up your Contact app in CRM.COM back-end. This step includes:

  • Branding your app by uploading images, specifying colours, embedded browser links etc.

  • Select which features of CRM.COM your app will support.

Refer to CRM.COM Apps Configuration guide (accessible here) for detailed information on how to create and set up your contact app.

Step 2 - Request to Publish the App

Once you complete with your app's configuration, click the Request to Publish button on your app's data screen. CRM.COM support team will receive your request and prepare a version of your app for you to review.

Please note that the app will not be submitted to the stores at this stage; that will only happen once you give us final approval (see Step 4 below).

We will need some more information from you to help us build your app and forward it to you for review. You can send the below to support@crm.com:

  1. A splash screen, that appears when the app is launched, usually before the main content is loaded. It typically includes your logo, app name, or branding image, and helps to set a tone or style for the app experience right from the start. If you're unable to provide a splash screen, CRM.COM team will use a default ones that can be replaced later. However, replacing it later on will require rebuilding the app and could incur additional costs.

  2. For the iOS version of the app:

    1. Provide the following for a maximum of 2 devices:

      • The phone's UDID (instructions provided below).

      • A Gmail address

    2. Download the TestFlight app on your iPhone.

    3. You will receive an email invitation to review your app on TestFlight.

  3. For the Android version,

    1. No additional steps are required, we will provide you with a link with an “.apk” file to download, install and review your app.

Steps to obtain the UDID for iOS

  1. Open https://get.udid.io/ in Safari on your iPhone.

  2. Click the green button labelled Tap to find UDID.

  3. In the pop-up, click Allow.

  4. Once the profile is downloaded, click Close on the confirmation pop-up.

  5. Go to your phone's Settings.

  6. Tap on Profile Downloaded.

  7. Click the Install button at the top right of the screen.

  8. Safari will automatically open and display the UDID number.

Step 3 - Review the App

You will receive an Android and an iOS version of your app for you to review it before submitting it to stores. This is a great opportunity for you to:

  • Revisit your app’s settings and explore additional options, or configure additional features to see how they appear in the app and

  • Manage and enhance your app with CRM.COM features. Simply set up or update these features in the back-end and witness how they impact the app’s content and functionality. For example, review how your product images appear, highlight Reward Offers as Featured to boost your offerings, and more.

If you make any changes in app settings in the back-end, be sure to save them, then close and relaunch the app to see the updated settings applied.

Step 4 - Submit to the Stores

When you are satisfied with your app and ready to publish it, you will need to give us some extra details so we can submit the app to the Play Store and the App Store.

Download and carefully read this document . Once you have completed it, return it to us at support@crm.com and we will take care of the rest!

Please keep in mind that it typically takes the stores 2-4 days to respond, though the timeframe can occasionally be shorter or longer.

Step 5 - Ready to Go

When the app is approved, we will notify you, and upon your instructions, we will release the app to the stores. Your app will now be available on the stores for your contacts to download!
