Explaining Products Fields
Name | Description |
---|---|
Code* | The code of the product which is automatically generated |
Type* | The type of the product |
Brand | The brand of the product |
Family | The family of the product |
Alternative Code* | The Alternative code of the type. |
VAT Rate* | The VAT rate of the product, based on which the VAT will be applied during billing. |
Description | The description of the product |
Characteristics | The characteristics of the product based on his type |
Validity* | The validity of the product per period of time |
Product Components | The product components is available only for fixed or flexible bundle products. Note that fixed bundle products are supported only for termed services and physical goods and flexible bundled products for termed services only. Mandatory on Conditions: Only for fixed or flexible bundle products |
Categories | Multiple categories which are used to classify or characterize the product |
Price Plans | The price plans which include rates for the specific product (Applicable for all Product Types except Usage Services) |
Usage Service Catalogs | The Usage Service Catalogs which include rates for the specific Usage Service Product |
Files & URL | The Files and URL related with the specific product information |

Creating a Product
- Search using the criteria available in the summary page
- From the top menu click on the NEW to open the Products data entry page
MAIN INFORMATION
Provide the product related information
- Once the Type is selected, Product Components tab will load in case that the selected type is a Bundle
PRODUCT COMPONENTS
- Define the components of the Bundle. You can add or remove components following

PRODUCT VALIDITY
- Select whether the product will be:
- Always Valid
- Valid for Specific period
- Click on ADD
- Valid From: Click on calendar to provide Valid From Date
- Valid To: Click on calendar to provide Valid To Date OR leave empty if the product should be valid forever
- Select whether the product will be:
CATEGORIES
- Click on Add and select a category from the tree modal
You can add as many categories you wish
- Click on Add and select a category from the tree modal
PRICE PLANS (For all product Types except Usage Services)Anchor price plans price plans Add the product directly on the Price Plan and provide a rate
- Click on ADD TO PRICE PLAN to open the Add Product to Price Plan modal
- From the modal:
- Price Plan: Select the Price plan you would like to add it to add your product to
- Rate Model: Select rate model
- Base Amount: Define Base amount

- Click on ADD TO PRICE PLAN to open the Add Product to Price Plan modal
USAGE SERVICE CATALOGS -
Status colour Red title Available from CRM.COM R9 Add the Usage Service directly to an existing Usage Service Catalog and provide a rate and provisioning id
Click on ADD TO USAGE SERVICE CATALOG to open the "Add Product in Usage Service Catalog" modal
- From the modal:
- Usage Service Catalog: Search using the search modal or quick search for the Usage Service Catalog
(System will only load the Usage Service Catalogs that do not already have the product added) - Base Rate: Define the Base Rate (The default Base Rate as defined in the Usage Service Catalogs Definitions will be made available, but it can be edited)
- Provisioning ID: Define the provisioning ID
This field will be made available once the catalog is selected - Start Date/Time: Click on the calendar icon to select the date and time that the service will become available
- End Date/Time: Click on the calendar icon to select the date and time that the service will stop being available

- Usage Service Catalog: Search using the search modal or quick search for the Usage Service Catalog

If the composition of the product you are creating is set to Fixed bundle then you need a few more clicks, before you finish the creation of your product. This is where you will need to define the components that will make up your product, by providing the products and the quantity.
According to the Type of the product, i.e. service or Physical good, then the allowed products to be added will differ. Check out what the components can be according to the type of the product.

Quantity: Once the product is added, add the quantity.

Bundle Components Tab
Define a list of products from where the user will be allowed to select from and add on a subscription.- Click on ADD and select whether you would like to add:
- Product
- Product Type
- Product Family
The system will load the allowed products to select from and add
- Minimum Quantity: The minimum number of products that can be added of the specific option (product, type or family)
(0 value is accepted and mandatory) - Maximum Quantity: The maximum number of products that can be added of the specific option (product, type or family)
- Click on ADD and select whether you would like to add:
Bundle Restrictions Tab
Define Restrictions related to the number of different families, or the number of different types that the components of the product can come from; This is used for filtering when defining the actual components of a product when creating a subscription, and its optional. Leaving the tab empty the user will be allowed to add from multiple types and families, based on what is available in the Bundle Components tab
- Use products from only X product families: Specify a number of product families that can be used.
For example if this is set to 1, then all the products that should be selected as components should belong to the same product family Use products from only X product types:Specify a number of product types that can be used.

You have the option to add a combination of all 3, Products, Types and families. However you should be careful not to set up a bundle with component rules that will cancel each other out. Take a look at the example configuration below:
Lets assume that the user selects both products and adds them on the subscription. Each and every record added will be validated: The above configuration would create a conflict as the system would check that both products are added (as their minimum quantity is 1) however they would not be allowed to be added as the Max quantity of the specific product type and family is set to 1. It is recommended to select a single option when making component configurations, or be very careful that the rules you are going to set will not be conflicting. |
