When to use Change Subscription Distribution

Use Change Subscription Distribution to: 

Use this Action to assign or switch Subscription Services and Installed Items to a different Provisioning Distributor or if the existing distribution must be cancelled.

When the Action is applied to a Service, it can be used to:

  • Move a Service which is already distributed to another Subscription Provisioning Distributor
    OR  
  • Enable the distribution of a Service with no distribution to an existing Subscription Provisioning Distributor
    OR 
  • Remove the distribution of a distributed Service from its related Subscription Provisioning Distributor.

When the Action is applied on an Installed Item, it can be used to:
 

  • Move an Installed Item which is already distributed to another Subscription Provisioning Distributor 
    OR 
  • Enable the distribution of an Installed Item with no distribution to an existing Subscription Provisioning Distributor 
    OR 
  • Remove the distribution of a distributed item from its related Subscription Provisioning Distributor.

    Change Subscription DistributionIf the Subscription is 'Effective' or 'Short Term Effective' then:
    • 'Active' Subscription Definitions Rules are observed.
      • The restrictions and dependencies set by the Subscription Service and each of its Distributorsareobserved.
      • The restrictions and dependencies set by the Subscription Installed Item and each of its Distributors are observed. 
    • The action Action is available only if the subscription has Subscription is in one of the following Life Cycle States:
      • All
      • Draft
      • Effective
      • Not Effective
      • In RestingRegretted
      • Cancelled
      • Short Term ffectiveEffective
      • Short Term Not Effective

     

     

     

     

    Executing Change Subscription Distribution

  • Navigate to BILLING APPLICATION > BILLING > SUBSCRIPTIONS > MANAGE SUBSCRIPTIONS
  • Search for the Subscription you are looking for, using the criteria section
  • Click on the Subscription number to go to the Data Entry page of the subscription
  • On the left hand side of the screen you can see the ACTION PANEL
  • Click on Subscription Service Related Actions OR Subscription Installed Items Related Actions OR Subscription Related Actions to expand 
  • Find the action you would like to execute and click on the link to open the action details in a modal window
  • If required check the following sections for information 
    1. EXISTING SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES

      1.  Provides an overview of the existing subscription services 

    2. EXISTING SUBSCRIPTION INSTALLED ITEMS

      1. Provides an overview of the existing subscription installed items

    3. UNSETTLED BILLS

      1. Provides an overview of any Bills related to the subscription and have not yet been settled
  • SUBSCRIPTION ACTION DETAILS

  • Classifications: Select Action Classification, which essentially is the business classification code for actions that for the same behavior code have multiple business classification

  • Action Type: Select action type from the drop down if you have configured custom actions in the system, using the specific behaviour code
  • Sub Action Type: Select action type from the drop down if you have configured custom actions in the system, using the specific business classification code
    Classification, Action Type and Sub Action type are visible only if applicable
  • Performed By User : Search and add the user that logs the action 
    If you leave empty then the Logged in user will be set
  • Performed Date: Click on the calendar icon and select date and time

    If the Subscription Action is related to ACTIVATION of a service, then the Performed Date can be set in the past and billing will start the billing of the service(s) based on the Performed date. Even though date can be set in the past, it must be after the service was added on the subscription as Draft

    • Use Enable and Disable Links to add or remove Services and Installed Items from and to Provisioning Distributors.
    • Services can be enabled on multiple Distributors simultaneously.
    • Installed Items can be enabled on multiple Distributors simultaneously.
    • Related Provisioning Distributors are added if not already there.
    • The initial distribution of the specified Installed Item or Service is removed if an Installed Item's distribution change was specified.
    • The Installed Item and/or Service are distributed to the new Distributors, as long as they are specified.
      • The new Subscription Provisioning Distribution record is marked as "Not Initialised".
      • The new Subscription Provisioning Distribution record is marked as "Not Authorised".
