When to use Change Subscription Distribution

Use Change Subscription Distribution to: 

In CRM.COM you have the option to easily switch services and installed items between provisioning distributors. This is possible either for existing/active provisioning distributors. More specifically the available actions are the following:

  • Installed Items
    • It changes the provisioning distributor of one or multiple installed items of a specific subscription
      • Move an installed item which is already distributed to another Subscription Provisioning Distributor 
        OR 
      • Enable the distribution of an installed item with no distribution to an existing Subscription Provisioning Distributor 
        OR 
      • Remove the distribution of a distributed item from its related Subscription Provisioning Distributor
  • Services
    • It changes the provisioning distributor of one or multiple subscription services of a specific subscription. The action will either:
      • Move a service which is already distributed to another Subscription Provisioning Distributor
        OR 
         
      • Enable the distribution of a service with no distribution to an existing Subscription Provisioning Distributor
        OR 
      • Remove the distribution of a distributed service from its related Subscription Provisioning Distributor

Change Subscription Distribution If the subscription is Effective or Short Term Effective then
  • The rules defined in the active subscription definitions are not violated
    • Subscription installed item per distributor restrictions and dependencies are not violated
      • Validates the existing Subscription Provisioning Distributors to which a Subscription Installed Item is allowed to be re-distributed to.
      • Validates the action's information against the active Subscription Definition's Subscription Installed Items Restrictions and Dependencies Per Distributor
    • Subscription services per distributor restrictions and dependencies are not violated
      • Validates the existing Subscription Provisioning Distributors to which a Subscription Service is allowed to be re-distributed to.
      • Validates the action's information against the active Subscription Definition's Subscription Services Restrictions and Dependencies Per Distributor
  • The action is available only if the subscription has one of the following Life Cycle States:All
    • Draft
    • Effective
    • Not Effective
    • In RestingRegretted
    • Cancelled
    • Short Term ffective
    • Short Term Not Effective

 

 

 

  • Services can be enabled on multiple distributors simultaneously
  • Installed Items can only be enabled on a single distributor. (If you enable an installed item on a different than the current distributor, the system will automatically disable the current distribution

 

Executing Change Subscription Distribution

  1. Navigate to BILLING APPLICATION > BILLING > SUBSCRIPTIONS > MANAGE SUBSCRIPTIONS
  2. Search for the Subscription you are looking for, using the criteria section
  3. Click on the Subscription number to go to the Data Entry page of the subscription
  4. On the left hand side of the screen you can see the ACTION PANEL
  5. Click on Subscription Service Related Actions OR Subscription Installed Items Related Actions ORon  Subscription Related Actions to expand 
  6. Find the action you would like to execute and click on the link to open the action details in a modal window
  7. If required check the following sections for information 
    1. EXISTING SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES

      1.  Provides an overview of the existing subscription services 

    2. EXISTING SUBSCRIPTION INSTALLED ITEMS

      1. Provides an overview of the existing subscription installed items

    3. UNSETTLED BILLS

      1. Provides an overview of any Bills related to the subscription and have not yet been settled
  8. SUBSCRIPTION ACTION DETAILS

  9. Classifications: Select Action Classification, which essentially is the business classification code for actions that for the same behavior code have multiple business classification

    1. Select the service for which you would like to change the distributor
    2. Move to Service Distribution and click on DISABLE or ENABLE links accordingly

    1. Select the installed item for which you would like to change the distributor
    2. Move to Service Distribution and click on DISABLE or ENABLE links accordingly

    1. Service Distributions to be Modified
      1.  Provides an overview of the changes related to service distribution that will be executed once the action submitted

    2. Installed Item Distributions to be Modified
      1.  Provides an overview of the changes related to installed item distribution that will be executed once the action submitted

  14. SUBSCRIPTION ACTION DETAILS

    1. Action Type: Select action type from the drop down if you have configured custom actions in the system, using the specific behaviour code
    2. Sub Action Type: Select action type from the drop down if you have configured custom actions in the system, using the specific business classification code
      Classification, Action Type and Sub Action type are visible only if applicable
    3. Performed By User : Search and add the user that logs the action 
      If you leave empty then the Logged in user will be set
    4. Performed Date: Click on the calendar icon and select date and time

      If the Subscription Action is related to ACTIVATION of a service, then the Performed Date can be set in the past and billing will start the billing of the service(s) based on the Performed date. Even though date can be set in the past, it must be after the service was added on the subscription as Draft

      Include PageScheduling Subscription action - GlobalScheduling Subscription action - Global
  15. Click on "SUBMIT"
    Action will be validated as provided in the section below and submitted if validations are passed

Once the action is submitted the following changes will be carried out by the system:

  • Add related provisioning distributors, if they do not already exist
  • Removes the initial distribution of the specified installed item, if an installed item's distribution change was specified
  • Removes the initial distribution of the specified service, if a service's distribution change was specified
     
  • Distributes the specified installed item to the new distributor, but only as long as a new distributor was specified
    • The new Subscription Provisioning Distribution record is marked as "not initialised"
  • Distributes the specified service to the new distributor, but only as long as a new distributor was specified
    • The new Subscription Provisioning Distribution record is marked as "not authorised"
