Fingerprinting Runs are used to detect piracy;
- identify subscriptions that are not abiding by the contract agreement (i.e. signed up for a home subscription and using it for a public view)
- identify subscribers that are using it illegally (no subscription at all)
Fingerprinting sends a message to the subscriber which is visible on the screen. The physical presence of an employee at the location being checked is required to confirm whether the subscription is legal or not.
