What is Platform?

Platform is used to provide the ability to configure attributes of the software which are related with system functionality rather than business rules.

Configuring Countries

 

The list of countries which can be used across CRM.COM software is configurable and is part of CRM.COM regional settings. Once the Country and Code are configured then whenever the specified country is selected throughout the system, the related code will also be automatically applied on the entity (if applicable). The default country to be used throughout the system is specified in the General Settings which are also a part of Platform.
Configuring CurrenciesThe list of currencies which can be used across CRM.COM software is configurable and is part of CRM.COM regional settings. The default currency to be used throughout the system is specified in the General Settings which are also a part of Platform.
Glossary TranslationCRM.COM software can be translated in multiple languages and all screens can be displayed in the language that is selected by the organisation or by each individual user. 
Configuring VAT RatesVAT rates are used to define the various VAT rates that can be used across the software. Each VAT rate can include more than one rates which are applicable for different period of times. Overlapping periods are not allowed.
Configuring General SettingsGeneral settings are used to provide information about the system and also to set up system settings and restrictions which are applied across the software, either through UI or Web API. General settings are mandatory and if not configured then only super users can access the software. 
Configuring Formatting SettingsFormatting Settings are used to define how numbers and dates should be formatted within CRM.COM. Formatting settings are configurable and are available as part of the Admin Settings. Formatting settings are mandatory and if not configured then only super users can access the software.
Configuring Numbering SchemesNumbering schemes are used to control and maintain the various sequences which are used by the system to automatically generate the numbers that identify various entities in CRM.COM. The numbering schemes are predefined by the system, and new ones cannot be created. All available numbering schemes can be configured to modify the format of each number, by specifying the prefix of the number and the number of the numerical digits that the generated number should have.

License is used to display the license information within CRM.COM. The license details are kept in the Ecenter in the organisation group entity

Configuring and using a Country

Company ZX wants to set up a new set of contacts from France

Business Requirement

Company ZX would like to use France as their Users' Country

CRM.COM Solution

  • Create Country, France, as a country under Regional Settings
    • Specify: Name, Two characters code, Three Character Code, Three Digits Numeric Code, Alternative Code, Dialing Code
  • Create a User Template specifying France as the Country of Residence
  • Create a new Contact, using the user template just created

Using VAT Rates

Company ZX Using VAT Rates

Business Requirement

Company ZX would like to set up their VAT Rates in three types: standard, reduced, zero

CRM.COM Solution

  • Create a VAT Rate by specifying the following information
    • Name: Standard
    • Alternative Code: SR
    • Period Rates:
      • 15% from 01/01/1980 onwards
  • Create a VAT Rate by specifying the following information
    • Name: Reduced
    • Alternative Code: RR
    • Period Rates:
      • 10% from 01/01/1980 up to 01/01/2014
      • 12% from 01/04/1980 onwards
  • Create a VAT Rate by specifying the following information
    • Name: Zero
    • Alternative Code: ZR
    • Period Rates:
      • 0% from 01/01/1980 onwards

Translating Expressions

Company ZX wants to translate the software in French

Business Requirement

Company ZX would like to translate the software in its language of residence country, French

CRM.COM Solution

  • Translate the software in French
    • Translate specific terms in Glossary Translator, for each expression add its French translation
  • Set up General Settings by specifying the following
    • French as the default system language
    • English as the default native language
    • Contact Information as the default home page
  • Log in using a user having the following preferences
    • Organisation system language as system language
    • Organisation native language as native language
    • Organisation home page as home page
  • The user is automatically redirected to Contact Information page
  • The UI is translated in French
  • On placing the mouse over a label the English translation is displayed
  • Log in using a user having the following preferences
    • English as system language
    • French as native language
    • Activities as home page
  • The user is automatically redirected to Activities page
  • The UI is translated in English
  • On placing the mouse over a label the French translation is displayed
