CRM.COM provides a simple solution for launching a branded mobile application in major app stores. Our pre-built application can be customised to match your business requirements and quickly published on popular platforms like the Apple App Store and Google Play, making it accessible for your contacts to download.

In this guide, we will walk you through the required steps to configure the application and its features in CRM.COM's back-end, review it, and publish it to app stores.

By the end of this guide, you’ll have a clear understanding on:

  • How to set up the Contact application in the back-end.

  • How to set up and utilise CRM.COM’s features in your application.

  • How to request from the CRM.COM team to publish your application.

  • Review your application before publishing it.

Let’s Get Started

Step 1 - Set up the Contact Application in CRM.COM

Set up your Contact application via the CRM.COM back-end. This step includes:

  • Branding your application by uploading images, specifying colours, embedded browser links etc.

  • Selecting the features that your CRM.COM application will support.

For detailed information on how to create and set up your Contact application, refer to the CRM.COM’s applications configuration guide (accessible here).

Step 2 - Request to Publish the Application

Once you have completed your application's configuration, click the Request to Publish button on the application's data screen. The CRM.COM support team will receive your request and prepare a version of your application for you to review.

Please note that the application will not be submitted to the stores at this stage; that will only happen once you give us final approval (see Step 4 below).

We will need some more information from you to help us build your application and forward it to you for review. You can send the below to support@crm.com:

  1. A splash screen, that appears when the application is launched, and before the main content is loaded. It typically includes your business logo, application name, or branding image, and helps to set a tone or style for the application experience right from the start. If you're unable to provide a splash screen, the CRM.COM team will use a default one that can be replaced later. However, replacing it later on will require rebuilding the app and could incur additional costs.

  2. For the iOS version of the app:

    1. Provide the following for a maximum of 2 devices:

      • The phone's UDID (instructions provided below).

      • A Gmail address

    2. Download the TestFlight application on your iPhone.

    3. You will receive an email invitation to review your application, you can download it from TestFlight.

  3. For the Android version,

    1. No additional steps are required. We will provide you with a link to an .apk file to download, install, and review your application.

Steps to obtain the UDID for iOS

  1. Open https://get.udid.io/ in Safari on your iPhone.

  2. Click the green button labelled Tap to find UDID.

  3. In the pop-up, click Allow.

  4. Once the profile is downloaded, click Close on the confirmation pop-up.

  5. Go to your phone's Settings.

  6. Tap on Profile Downloaded.

  7. Click the Install button at the top right of the screen.

  8. Safari will automatically open and display the UDID number.

Step 3 - Review the Application

You will receive an Android and an iOS version of your application to review before submitting it to stores. This is a great opportunity for you to:

  • Revisit your application’s settings and explore additional options, or configure additional features to see how they appear in the application.

  • Manage and enhance your application with additional CRM.COM features. Simply set up or update these features via the back-end system and witness how they impact the application’s content and functionality. For example, review how your product images appear, highlight Reward Offers as Featured offers to boost your offerings, and more.

If you make any changes to the application settings in the back-end, be sure to save them, then close and relaunch the app to see the updated settings applied.

Step 4 - Submit to the Stores

When you are satisfied with your app and ready to publish it, you will need to provide us with some extra details so we can submit it to the Play Store and the App Store.

Download and carefully read this document . Once you have completed it, return it to us at support@crm.com and we will take care of the rest!

Please keep in mind that the stores typically respond in 2-4 days, though the timeframe can occasionally be shorter or longer.

Step 5 - Ready to Go

When the application is approved, we will notify you, and upon your instructions, we will release the application to the stores. Your application will now be available in the stores for your contacts to download!
