First, you will need to must set up the Usage Service Catalog Definitions.
Usage Service Catalogs Definitions is are a set of business rules used to control the behavior behaviour of Usage Service Catalogs throughout their whole life cycleCatalogs throughout their Life Cycle.
Through the definition Definition you can:
- Define the values of related allowed entities:.
- Usage Service Types: These are the service types that will be allowed to be added in the the Product Types which can be included in Usage Service Catalogs. Only services of service type Usage Service should be added hereProduct Types which are classified as Usage Services can be specified in this section.
- Provisioning Providers: These are the providers that will be allowed to the Providers who can be used for processing the provisioning requestsProvisioning Requests.
- Define Default values for services Services of specific Service Types.
In Also provide default rates for Service Types in the Definition provide as well Default Rates for service types. These (updatable) rates will be automatically selected when creating new Catalogs using the specific services, however you will still have the option to update.

Once the With Usage Service Catalog Definitions are defined, in place you are ready to start creating your Usage Service Catalogs. Via the Usage Service Catalogs you have the option to , through which you can define the following information:

- Define the The Provisioning Provider that will be responsible for the provisioning usage services Usage Services defined via in the specific Usage Service Catalog.
- Define the The period for which the catalog Catalog will be valid. You can define multiple periods as well as defining it as always being validDefine all the usage servicesMultiple periods or always valid can be defined.
- All the Usage Services that should be provided (the services are the Usage Services created via USAGE SERVICE CATALOGS GScreated in the Products module).
For each service Service, define the following:- Base Rate: The price that the service will be billed withof the Service for Billing.
- Provisioning ID: The CA ID required by the provider for each servicethe Provisioning Provider to identify each Service.
- Start and End Time: the periods for which the service Service should be available for ordering.
Tiered Rates: You have the option to provide different rates that can be applied based on given conditions. For example conditional rates which are different than the specified Base Rate. For example, provide a different rate for the service Service if its it is used during a specific periods of the day, period or if provided via specific devices.
Note Usage Detail Record configuration modules must be configured if you would like to define related conditions for the Tiered Rates.
- Define conditions related to Subscriptions or Accounts Receivable which will dictate determine whether the usage service catalog to be Usage Service Catalog is available for selection.
Usage Service Catalogs will be filtered (when adding a service Service on the subscriptionSubscription) based on the conditions defined in the Usage Service Catalog.

Billing Term Definition Rules include validations and restrictions that will be used across billing termsBilling Terms, regardless of their schemesScheme. Specifically via , through Billing Term Definitions you can define the billing rules Billing Rules that should be applied on usage services Usage Services based on a set of conditions. You have the option to force the system to bill usage services as soon as they are ordered, or to be billed normally by the next Billing Run Process. By default the system will bill them during the Billing Run processThese rules are only applicable for Normal Billing Term Schemes. If the Usage Service is added on a Prepaid Subscription then it is billed immediately after execution of the Action.

Let's see how you can quickly set up the System to start using Usage Service Catalogs and the UDRs module for OTT business. In our example, we will create a catalog for the three Usage Services that were created in the products example. The three movies which can be provisioned via Nagra Media Live Provider are normally charged €3 and €2 if ordered between 00:01 and 6:59. Every time a movie is ordered it is billed directly.
