What are Conditional Security Restrictions?

Conditional Security Restrictions (CSRs) are used to restrict the visibility of certain System features and attributes of each module, and to define particular attributes as 'Non-editable' or 'Mandatory'. The Restrictions are applied provided that certain conditions set on the Organisational Units and the entity are met. CSRs are also applicable on all Web API calls. 

Different Restrictions may be applied, depending on the Type of the entity:

  • Navigate to Conditional Security Restrictions (CSRs) and explore existing entries via the Summary page.  
  • Click on the link (Name or Number) of the entry of your interest to enter the Data Entry page and see more detail. 
  • Use the Actions Menu to create a NEW CSR, modify (EDIT) or DELETE an existing one.  
  • Use BACK to return to the Summary page and CANCEL to revert any unwanted changes made to the CSR.

Name

Description

Main Information 
Name*The name of the Conditional Security Restriction (CSR).
Entity*The entity that the CSR will be applied to.
State* The state of the CSR which can be 'Active' or 'Inactive'.
DescriptionA description of the CSR.

Restrictions*

Note

Restrictions are available once the Entity in the Main Information is set.

 

Fields
FieldsThe following restrictions can be applied on fields:
  • They can be set as not Visible.
  • They can be set as not Editable.
  • They can be set as Mandatory.
Note

A tab or attributes within a tab can be selected. For example, Addresses or Addresses / Area can be selected. By selecting the whole tab, top level restrictions are defined (and not for each item explicitly). 

Unless stated otherwise in the CSR, the System sets the fields as Editable and Visible (default).

Processes
Processes

The restrictions that can be applied to Processes. Processes added to the list are set as 'Not Available'.

Printouts
PrintoutsThe restrictions that can be applied to Printouts. Printouts added to the list are set as 'Not Available'.
Conditions
Entity Conditions

The set of entity related conditions which include the following:

  • Entity Type
  • Privacy Level
  • Life Cycle State
  • Status
Organisational Conditions

A set of the Organisational Units for which the CSR is valid, and in which the Unit of the User creating or modifying a record must be included, for the CSR to be triggered.

Log Information
Log DetailsThe standard set of Log Details information available in all entities.
